SITAONAIR develops AIRCOM FlightTracker

More than 100 aircraft have gone missing in the past 70 years. The fact that this continues to happen, despite modern technological capabilities, is a stark reminder that the aviation industry still has work to do on enhancing its flight tracking services, so SITAONAIR has developed AIRCOM FlightTracker in response.

With the ICAO’s Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) Concept of Operations mandating automatic flight tracking from November 2018, airlines now face the challenge of incorporating this technology into legacy fleets to meet upcoming tracking requirements.

The company said that FlightTracker can accommodate the equipment found on every kind of aircraft – from the most basic, to those operating FANS and everything in between. Coupled with a range of additional features and connectivity options, FlightTracker uses airlines’ existing onboard technology to deliver wide-ranging safety and operational improvements without the need to modify aircraft.
