Moroccan bizav specialist Alfa Air sets up Ivorian unit

Posted 23 January 2017 · Add Comment

Alfa Air is set to enter the West African business aviation market through its recently established Alfa Air of Africa unit in the Ivory Coast, reports ch-aviation.

A review of the Ivorian business register shows Alfa Air of Africa was established in Abidjan late last year with Moroccan entrepreneur Chakib Lahrichi its general manager.

According to the Maghreb Confidential news site, Lahrichi's decision to move from Morocco to the Ivory Coast came after he encountered difficulties with the Moroccan civil aviation authority in renewing Alfa Air's AOC.

As a result, the firm's fleet of two Dassault Aviation Falcon 10s, one Falcon 20, one Jetstream 32, and one Piper (twin piston) PA34 Seneca II have been grounded since last year.

Alfa Air specialised in VIP/business charters between Morocco and Europe with medevac services to boot. It is believed Alfa Air of Africa will assume a similar business plan.
